Conference
Overview
NEW YORK CITY -
The LMEC-LatinVision Media 2010 Convergence:
The CEO's Summit,
Shaping the Future of Latin Media,
Entertainment, Technology and Advertising will be held on Monday, Oct.
4, 2010 at the
New York Times –
Times Center -
in New York City followed by a Business Networking Event.
This one-day event brings
the best minds in the Latin Media, Entertainment and Technology markets and
is presented by New York City’s Latin Media and Entertainment Commission
(LMEC) in partnership with LatinVision Media.
Mayor
Michael R. Bloomberg established the
LMEC
in 2003 to make New York the capital of Latin Media and Entertainment in the
world. The Commission is made up of leaders from the Latin and mainstream media
industry, community leaders from nonprofit and cultural sectors, and leading
executives from the financial, advertising and real estate sectors.
The
conference will be presented in the form of thematic panels with questions from
the audience and moderated by experts in their respective fields.
The
2010 Convergence
The CEO's Summit
will also feature:
•
Effective best practices to adopt new technologies by Latino media and entertainment
• Case studies by top media players in the so-called traditional space,
and how their outlets are adapting to the digital space
• Technologies available for delivering information and entertainment
via new channels
• Efforts launched by both the private and public sector to create, promote
and support Latin American arts and culture
• Best practices in training, recruiting and retaining the best talent
in the areas of marketing, advertising, new media, PR and technology
• Case studies of new ventures and how they got started through financing
• Networking
event
The
2010 Convergence conference seeks to share and enhance a broader knowledge of
industry’s best practices to transform businesses and to better meet the
demands of an increasingly mobile, fragmented, and elusive target audience.
It’ll also showcase New York City’s efforts to promote and support
Latin Culture, Entertainment and Media as well as to how businesses can benefit
and contribute to the future of Latin Media, Entertainment, Technology and
Advertising.
The conference is sponsored by major U.S. and international
corporations.
This year’s conference will include a three-hour networking
business reception
where industry, talent and the new players will be able to connect in a more
relaxed environment at the crossroads of the world.

Warning on 'fictitious' LatinVision emails
It
has been brought to our attention that fraudulent e-mail
messages are being sent by individuals purporting to be
representatives of LatinVision.
These messages have used the names of LatinVision’s management
team, but are not sent from Latin Vision e-mail addresses
(often they use Yahoo or Hotmail addresses).
Typically, though not exhaustively, the messages take the form
of invitations offering membership or the possibility to
participate in LatinVision events (e.g. “Conference 09”) as an
individual or as part of a ‘delegation’. They ask the potential
‘victim’ to respond for further information.
Ultimately the recipient will be asked to provide passport and
bank details, and finally payment (usually via Western Union or
MoneyGram) to the fictitious LatinVision representative.
These e-mails are not legitimate LatinVision
communications, and are in fact a form of
advance fee fraud. Their objective is to mislead victims
into paying for a fictitious membership or event registration.
Please note:
• E-mails
from LatinVision are only sent from addresses which end in: @latinvision.com
• LatinVision does not use Western Union or MoneyGram to
receive payments
* We accept
credit cards on a secure server environment only (https://www.latinvision.com)
with some other extension after this
• Participation in our events / conferences is by invitation
only and is reserved exclusively for Members of the LatinVision
Group and invited guests
Do not
hesitate to call us 646 519 2452 if you have any questions
If
you have received one of these e-mails or have any doubts about
the authenticity of a message you have received from LatinVision
please forward the message to
security@latinvision.com for verification.
LatinVision Companies disclaims all responsibility with respect
to any expense, loss, and/or damage of any kind, which might
have occurred in connection with any fraudulent membership or
event registration invitation.
